This trip was my first adventure to Haspin Acres in Laurel, Indiana. I went with a small contingent of members from the Hummer Club. Thanks to Eric for organizing this mini event. His pictures can be found on Picasa.

Haspin Acres had quite a few fairly steep decents and climbs, all of which I made with relative ease except for two. Once of those hills nobody was able to climb -- Hummer or otherwise -- because it was simply too slick (the ground was starting to thaw and it was very sloppy). One of the drivers even cracked a rim in his attempt! And, for the other hill climb that caused me trouble, I just did not have enough ground clearance to clear a rock and I had to back down. I really love my H3 Adventure -- with it's 59:1 crawl ratio, I can crawl down the steepest hills at about 2 or 3 MPH without every touching the break.

In addition to the cracked rim suffered by one driver, another cracked a taillight. And, worst of all, still another driver blew-out the transfer case and/or front differential, lost 4-wheel drive, and had to be pulled out. Since that H3 Alpha was still under warranty, Hummer of Cincinnati sent a tow-truck to come pick it up.
