Offroad Adventure Checklist
This page contains check lists of things to do before and
after each off-road adventure, as well as gear to bring
on each adventure in my Hummer H3.
Before Each Adventure
- Check Gas Cap
- Check Oil
- Fill Gas Tank
- Fill Water Container
- Fill Windshield Washer Fluid
- Remove Wheel Center Caps
After Each Adventure
- Clean Windows
- Clean Lights
- Clean License Plate
- Replace Wheel Center Caps
- Check Tire Pressure (may have a leak, or may have let some air out to increase traction)
Tools and Equipment to Bring on Each Adventure
- Air Compressor
- Blanket (for emergencies, to spread tools on, etc.)
- Cable Lock and Keys (to lock roof-mounted equipment)
- Camera and Batteries
- Flash Light
- Flag and Mounting Hardware (some parks require flags)
- Fire Extinquishers
- GPS Reciever and 12V Power Adapter
- Heavy Winter Coat (to throw over straps or chains during recovery)
- Hi-Lift Jack and Accessories
- Jack (mounted to roof rack with Mighty Mounts)
- Fix-It-Kit (replacement springs, shear pin, etc.)
- Lift-Mate (wheel-lift straps with rubber-coated hooks)
- Manual Winch Kit
- Clevis/Shackle (to attach jack to tree strap)
- Gloves
- Tensioner Chain
- Tree Strap
- Winching Chain
- Off-Road Base
- Jumper Cables
- Max Axe
- Mechanics Toolkit (sockets and wrenches)
- Medical Kit
- Mobile Phone
- Rags (to clean windshield, lights and license plate)
- Receiver Clevis/Shackle (to attach chains and straps to a trailer hitch receiver)
